hey, i scribed for this lesson because zhiping scribed a few lessons back.

today two pieces of paper given out: "Drama 2009: Play-building Pre-Presentation Reflection", & the rubrics for the presentation next week.

on the Pre-Presentation Reflection sheet, fill in EVERY BOX with what is supposed to be filled in, except the LAST BOX which is for peer commenting (remember, your friend commenting on your reflection sheet MUST remember to SIGN). Mr Nick Ng says "do not ask your enemy to do it for you". (i strongly believe we have developed a strong teamwork & love for each other WITHOUT ENMITY so we're cool :D )for the section which asks for on-stage role(s) detail, please use the "Character Biography" that you have posted on the blog. besides that, answer the rest of the questions accordingly. for the research section, you should have done sufficient research. please include what you have done to really understand your character.

the assessment rubrics are rather straightforward and simple. please make sure you go through what is required so as to perform to your best abilities (:

lastly (& MOST importantly) please include your (tiny little) PHOTOGRAPHS for the two sheets of paper. you should know where to paste them (: & Mr Nick Ng says that if you don't have your picture there, then GO & GET YOUR PICTURE THERE NO MATTER WHAT. ( O: )

Roles of lighting

hi this is Jiashin,

here are your roles for lighting

SCENE 1
Black out (Jia Shin)
Spot light on Terrence (Jia Shin)
Light on Melissa (phone call) (Jia Shin)
Black out (Shi Yin)

SCENE 2
Black out still while Emcee speaks and furniture are being rearranged (Shi Yin)
All Lights on and people enter (Shi Yin)
Spotlight on Terrence (Li sha)


SCENE 3
All Light on (Li Sha)
Lights on Melissa and Andy (Jia Shin)


SCENE 4
All lights on (ser yeen)

SCENE 5
Spotlight on Nicole (Clare)
All lights on (Clare)
Spotlight on Terrence (Clare)

These roles are assigned base on whether you are in the scene and whether it is convenient for you to do the lighting as me and Clare cannot be doing the lighting for all scenes as we need to enter some scenes too.

We will paste tags on the switches so that you will know which one to switch on.

ASSESSMENT.

Term 4 Week 2, Wednesday

Judging Criteria
1) Production role
- 2 playrights
- 2 directors + 1 stage manager (in charge of PROMPT COPY)
- Visual design team 1 (set, props, costume, makeup designs)
- Design Team 2 (sound) - music as a Transition [MUST be thru audio system (CD) : NO PHONE)

2) Performance role
- EVERY person MUST have lines.

Rehearsals
- At least 10 Hours
1) Sept Hols (Wed, Thurs: 9am-5pm with lunchbreak)
2) T4W1 (Mon 3-4pm M404)
3) T4W2 (Tues 5-6pm M404)

Grading:

A) Performance

-Evidence of Rehearsal (no confusion/whispering; All know what to do without prompting)
-Believability, confidence and interaction in Role
-Vocal and Physical Characterization (Loud volume, Body language)

B) Production

-process blog (must be printable)
-theatre craft (production role) eg. if the characters dont know how to move, the directors will be marked down; e.g if the music cant play, the design team 2 die.
-reflections (later)


ON THE DAY ITSELF
10 mins: Prep (costume: change b4hand; props/set)
60mins: PRESENTATION (4 grps: 15 mins each. NO EXCEEDING -will be stopped :x)
10 mins: Pack up

Sandwiches will be ordered.


DRAMAFEST (EOY)
29/30th Oct
-only one group per class PERFORMS, but the whole class is involved in PRODUCTION.
The 4 best classes move on to the FINAL JUDGING!

Rehearsals for dramafest: only have 1 week after eoys -.-
